I'm a native West Virginian and have been living in the Putnam County area for 20 years.
I grew up in Nitro, WV and spent four years in the Navy after graduating from high school.
I've been woodworking for 25 years. After retiring in 2004 from the chemical industry with
31 year's service, I now make fine furniture and accessories.
My family and I live in Scott Depot, West Virginia. My wife Cathy is a freelance writer
and editor, and my daughter Katie is employed at a local radio station.
I've been a member of the Valley Woodworkers of West Virginia for 18 years, the
Mountaineer Woodturners for two years, and a member of The Society of American
Period Furniture Makers for five years.
Most days I'm in my one-man shop in the back yard building furniture in a variety of styles.
For health and fitness I also enjoy the practice of Tai Chi.
